ReturnGuard AI helps Shopify merchants manage return requests, exchange offers, return reasons, product risk insights, and customer return communications. This policy explains what information the app processes and how it is used.

Information We Process

When a merchant installs or uses ReturnGuard AI, the app may process store information, order identifiers, product and variant details, customer names, customer email addresses, customer return notes, uploaded return photos, return reasons, return statuses, and merchant configuration settings.

How We Use Information

We use this information to provide the app's return portal, merchant dashboard, return approval workflow, exchange recommendations, email templates, product return analytics, and AI return reason analysis. We do not sell personal information.

AI Processing

ReturnGuard AI may analyze return reasons, product details, and return context to help merchants understand return patterns and recommend next steps. The app is designed to support merchant review and does not automatically issue refunds outside Shopify's normal merchant workflows.

Data Sharing

Information is shared only as needed to operate the app, comply with Shopify platform requirements, secure the service, or respond to legal obligations. ReturnGuard AI relies on Shopify APIs and Shopify infrastructure as part of the merchant-authorized app experience.

Data Retention and Deletion

ReturnGuard AI keeps app data only as long as needed to provide the service, support merchant records, or meet legal obligations. The app handles Shopify privacy webhooks for customer data requests, customer redaction, and shop redaction. When a deletion request applies, stored customer return data is deleted or redacted.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect information processed by the app. No internet service can guarantee complete security, but we work to limit access to information to what is necessary to operate the service.

Merchant Responsibilities

Merchants are responsible for configuring their store policies, responding to customer requests, and ensuring their use of ReturnGuard AI complies with laws that apply to their business.
